The Poly Pottery

The pottery is a new addition to The Poly, based on the ground floor of the Poly annexe on New Street we have a resident potter and two kilns.

Workshops and Courses

Beginner's Handbuilding

Monday evenings from 4th March, 18.30 to 20.30, 6 sessions - £180.00

You will work through techniques such as pinch pots, coil pots and slab making, as well as decorative techniques such as slip, glazing and burnishing. 

With demonstrations and guidance.  You'll be encouraged to work at your own pace and develop your pottery skills.

All equipment and tools provided, with additional clay available to purchase if required.

Intermediate Ceramics Course

Wednesday evenings from 6th March, 18.30 to 20.30, 6 Sessions - £180.00

A practical course for those who have a basic knowledge of working with clay and who would like to further explore the processes of ceramics at their own pace.  Guild your skill set and develop your design ideas further.  You will look at glazes and firing techniques

If you are looking for a course to refine and develop existing skills, this is the course for you.

 

Drop In Sessions

Wednesday mornings, beginning on 6th March, 10:00 - 12:00 - £15 a session

These sessions are perfect for established ceramicists and artists who should like to access workshop facilities and equipment.  Clay is available to purchase, we have a kiln service available.  Not suitable for beginners, as they are not taught sessions, but our master potter will be on hand for advising.
