'Who Lived in a Place Like This?' Archive Day // Falmouth History Week

An opportunity to explore local history with friends and experts and share your memories of the Falmouth area.

· Meet local historians and archive volunteers

· Examine original archives

· Learn more at short talks

· Record your memories for future generations with Source FM

· Discover how and where you can continue to explore the history of  the Falmouth area

· Find out how you can get involved and help your local archive.

 

Talks in The Daniell Room/Bar


Each talk will last for 20 minutes. Places are limited so don’t be late!

11.30 // Tourism in Falmouth, Michael Bradley:
See and hear how tourism changed Falmouth with a respected local historian and long time supporter of Falmouth History Archive.

12.15 // The Bull Family of Marlborough House:
Find out what Cornwall Family History Society have discovered from their research into Packet Ship Captain John Bull and his family. 

13.45 // Memories of a Falmouth trader, Alan Cox:
Reminisce with local historian, FHA Volunteer and long-time owner of Cox’s Home Hardware on The Moor .

14.30 // The Pendennis motorcycle races, David Saunby:
Local councillor and motorcycle enthusiast David will share photographs and trophies from these famous 1930s road races.
