Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool

Peter Turner met Hollywood legend Gloria Grahame at a London lodging in the late 1970s.

 

They fell in love and embarked on an intense if short-lived affair. Paul McGuigan's touching film, based on Turner’s memoir, recalls that time and their subsequent encounter in Liverpool a few years later.

 

It's a beautiful and evocative drama, with Annette Bening and Jamie Bell superb as the seemingly mismatched pair.
