Para meaning:
Team, herd, group (Cornish)
Beside, side by side (Greek)
‘Para’ is a group exhibition
that illustrates current discourses in contemporary photographic practices, and
the re-evaluation of the ‘decisive
moment’, famously coined by Henri Cartier-Bresson. The works on display
includes the performative, video, still-life, conceptually based, commercially
inclined, photography’s relationship to textiles, reconstituting the archive, staged
photography, portraiture, documentary approaches, landscapes, collage and the
coming together between the analogue and digital processes.
