These works are constructed paintings incorporating screen-printed
features such as diagrams of a nautical origin. They are made on
wooden panels that I find on my walks along the Penryn River and
creeks. The marks I make along with the words are suggested to me by
the found surface.
I am trying to convey a sense of place and the maritime activity that is
associated with it. The small vessels have a traditional look to them –
they are used for work and pleasure.
