MADELEINE STROBEL

Born in Venezuela, daughter of Czech emigrants, I spent my first ten years in South America, before moving to Europe. I spent another ten years in Switzerland, where I completed my schooling before moving to Germany in 1971. I moved to Scotland in 1980, where I enrolled at Edinburgh College of Art and graduated (BA Hons Painting) in 1984. My principal tutors at that time were Elizabeth Blackadder, John Houston and George Donald.

City of Edinburgh Council purchased one of my large charcoal drawings during my degree show.
