Update April 2020: while we are closed and operating with a very reduced staff team, we aren't currently recruiting volunteers. But you can register your interest in volunteering at The Poly so we can be in touch when we open again: please email email@example.com.
Our volunteers are a vital part of our organisation, and there are many different ways of getting involved from selling tickets on the box office, to serving drinks on our bar, or becoming a trustee. Our volunteer shifts are flexible to suit you, and there's no minimum commitment - we hugely appreciate any time that you can give.
- Box Office
As a front-of-house box office assistant you will be the face of The Poly, welcoming customers, selling tickets and answering the phone. Full training for this and all roles is provided and a member of staff is always there to help.
- Fire Warden
As an usher and fire warden you will take tickets and help people find their seats in the auditorium. You will be fully trained on health and safety procedures in case of an emergency.
- Poly Guild
If you are interested in art and design you may enjoy helping serve customers in our Guild shop, which features work exclusively created by local artists or those who attended university in Cornwall.
The Poly bar is a popular meeting place prior to the show and during the interval. Your role would be to make sure the bar is ready for service and then serve drinks to our customers.
- Falmouth History Archive
Interested in Falmouth's history? Then come and help our history group to preserve our archive and carry out research.
- Brochure Distribution
Help us to broaden our audience by distributing brochures and posters in your local area.
