Keeper of The Flame

Spain, 1937 and international goalkeeper, George Gilbert, finds himself awaiting the firing squad!! How did he get there and how, if at all, does he get out? Recounting tales of daring in order to make his toughest save yet …his life !

Rob Adams, who has most recently completed a run in the West End show, "Brokeback Mountain" brings his new one man show, "Keeper of the Flame" to The Poly. Rob has enjoyed a varied performing career, ranging from Film (The Fifth Element, Beg) , Theatre (Brokeback Mountain, The Caretaker, Noises Off) to installation work with Peter Greenaway at The Hayward Gallery. He’s also a co-director, with Michael Mulqueen, of OddBod Theatre Co. “Keeper of the Flame” sees Rob highlighting the links between Politics and Sport, something which can lead to wide discussions, as Gary Linekar knows only too well.
