Darke Women is a new show by Bec Applebee made as a celebration of the incredible and feisty female characters found within the plays of Nick Darke.
Nick Darke was and is one of Cornwall’s most prestigious and internationally acclaimed playwrights, author of such theatrical treats as The Riot and The King of Prussia.
Together with her fabulous creative team that includes Anna Murphy (Kneehigh Theatre), Mary Woodvine (Poldark) and Sharon Andrews (Scarey Little Girls) she will bring some of Nick’s most memorable female characters together on stage for the first time.
This will be a robust encounter of strong willed, strong minded women crossing the centuries.
From Dynamite makers and Smugglers to Wetsuit and Brandy experts, who knows how they will get on or what they will they get up to. This will be a professional evening of physical performance, entertainment, song and humour. A sensitive and true celebration of Nick Darke’s work.
A family-friendly show recommended for those 7yrs and up.
