About Us

The Poly is a live arts venue, arts cinema, galleries, community pottery and makers guild in a beautiful historic venue in the heart of Falmouth, Cornwall. 
 
Based in an iconic listed building, we are dedicated to promoting engagement in the arts, sciences and Cornish history through film, live events, exhibitions, talks, our community pottery and workshops. 
 
A registered charity, The Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Society aims to promote innovation in the arts and sciences, with particular focus on the county of Cornwall.

Our History

The Cornwall Polytechnic Society (the Poly) was formed in 1833, the inspiration of Anna Maria and Caroline, the teenage daughters of Robert Were Fox of G.C. Fox & Co, a prominent Falmouth firm of shipping agents, and joint owners of the Perran Foundry.
