Andréa’s love of the British coastline is the inspiration behind her
work. Her passion for bold and experimental use of colour has been captured
with the use of mixed media and recycled and repurposed materials. Since her
earliest explorations in art, on a very limited budget, the use of recyclable
products has been Andréa’s main focus and still is to this day, sourcing
materials from a wide variety of places. The images the viewer sees, explore
her perception of land and seascapes; cultivated from an emotional response to
visual memory, using intense and complex combinations of colour, in order to
capture dramatic and atmospheric scenery. The rugged and majestic coastline of
Britain remains to this day a constant source of inspiration and discovery,
enabling Andréa to produce images and mixed media that flit between the
figurative and abstract.
