CAN YOU HELP?
As a small charity The Poly relies on a basic IT system to run all of our many activities from workshops and performance to maintaining access to our extensive local digitised history archive.
Microsoft is withdrawing support for our older machines in October, (ANYTHING BELOW WINDOWS 11) including antivirus updates. We therefore can’t securely run our system.
These computers need replacing to keep us doing what we do! This is obviously a huge expense to hit us at once! About £6k just to replace what we have!
We are also proposing to build in future flexibility by improving our IT and wi-fi connectivity systems, buying additional laptops to support running events and activities offsite as we continue to update The Poly to meet the needs of our community. For this we are raising an additional £4k.
A new Dell computer costs £804
