Keira Martin Dance: Here Comes Trouble

Join us for an evening of spectacular dance from this outstanding performer. A rigorous personal investigation into womanhood and Keira’s individual identity. Choreographed by Keira Martin, Directed by Charlotte Vincent, Designed by Ryan Laight and original music composed by Jamie Roberts.

Through a series of robust episodes drawing on social and cultural influences from Yorkshire, Ireland and Jamaica, Keira rhythmically weaves together traditional music, authentic song and gutsy dance. Best described as Irish dance deep in thought, she shares hard hitting and heart-warming chapters of her life to courageously address stereotypes and challenge labels. Witness her build bridges and burn them again, each time revealing a deeper layer of herself and her heritage. This feisty yet vulnerable performance is entertaining and demonstrates the power and elegance of women in a very real and honest way.

A must see Keira had me on the edge of my seat! - Namron OBE

Keira’s a stunning performer and a terrific collaborator. She’s rigorous in the detail of her work and has a fascinating ability to leave this detail behind and transform into a dancer whose entire focus becomes the stage - Mikel Murfi

An artist who has a genuinely individual voice, her work is not just choreography it is about attitude, honesty, commitment and not least an extraordinary performance Brendan Keaney

A really compelling performer and I really enjoyed your performance very much. I am seduced and compelled by your courage to draw from your personal experience to make work, and really enjoy the way you use such a diverse set of tools. Wieke Eringa, CEO & Artistic Director - Yorkshire Dance
