Irene Waters

this, that, other!

I have wanted for some time to show a collective of my work past and present, and this show has helped me achieve this, hence the title...’this, that, other.’ The work I’m showing are pieces from 2004 to the present.

During the process of choosing the pieces for this show, I began to notice a strong connection between each;  over the twenty years I have been an artist, I had thought each body of work I had produced was...’oh so different’. However, as I scrutinised each piece, a gradual realisation hit me: my work was a continuum of similar subjects, there was a correlation between them, every individual piece was immersed with the essence of identity and narrative.

I have decided to show works on canvas and paper, utilising many differing mediums which include paint, print, photographic imagery and last but not least my newest work...doodles.
