Family Friendly // The Iron Giant

Dir. Brad Bird | USA 2000 | 83 min | U

Next in our Family Friendly season is The Iron Giant, a beautifully animated feature from director Brad Bird (The Incredibles & Ratatouille) based on Ted Hughes' 1968 story, The Iron Man. This critically acclaimed classic tackles ambitious topics and complex human relationships in one of the greatest unsung childhood classics.

The Iron Giant tells the story of a blossoming friendship between a rebellious Maine boy named Hogarth and a towering 50-foot robot at the height of Cold War paranoia. The metal-munching alien giant soon falls into jeopardy when sinister agent Kent Mansley starts sniffing around, and Hogarth is determined to protect him.

Witty, sophisticated and determinedly retro, this classic animation is not to be missed.

Tickets: £7.75 adult / £6 concession (inc. Poly Fund)
