Food in WW1 with Paul Cleave
Part of our WW1 programme
What did people eat before World War 1 and what changed? How much did our diet change and how important was food to the war effort? Dr Paul Cleave is a researcher who has a special interest in the history of food and will be talking about food in World War 1, especially in Cornwall. He will trace the changes the war imposed in response to shortages, how diet after the war was affected by the experience and how ordinary housewives managed to cope! With a presentation and various artefacts such as original cookbooks, postcards and documents to look at, this should be a fascinating afternoon. There will also be tea and some wartime recipe cake to try!
Tickets: £6.00
