The Spring Gallery is on the ground floor of The Poly with a large window frontage facing onto the main street. The gallery is approximately 80m x 36m with a large door opening onto the main reception area opposite the Box Office and Poly Guild both of which bring many people into The Poly throughout the week.
This is the largest Gallery in The Poly on the top floor, it can be hired as a whole or sub-divided to create a smaller space.
There are five large windowsills, which can be used with/out plinths for a variety of work. The gallery also houses moveable display units that can be moved into a formation to suit your exhibition.
The Gallery is accessible from both ends of the building though disabled access is severally limited.
Full details of our gallery spaces are included in our Gallery Guide 2018, downloadable here.
We have four spaces for hire in the building.
Our main auditorium has 180 raked seats with two wheelchair spaces it is mainly used as a cinema and theatre with a full sound and lighting rig and backstage dressing rooms. It is hired out on a case by case basis, with costs dependent on the use of equipment and additional technical support.
On the top floor of the building the Main Gallery is a very flexible space with its own bar and access to a small kitchen. Hire charges include the support of one member of staff, extra to be charged for technical support.
The bar is on the first floor adjacent to the Oliver Price library. It can either be used as a bar or a meeting space with the alcohol locked away to comply with licensing regulations.
