Make-A-Mug - Handbuilding Taster Session

Ever wanted to try your hand at pottery? Join our two-hour taster session and create your very own handmade mug!*

Perfect for complete beginners, hobbyists, or those with a little more experience, these hands-on taster sessions will introduce you to the wonderful world of clay, explore hand building techniques, and have you decorating with coloured slips.

At the end of the session, you will be given a day and time to collect your work which will have been both bisque and glaze fired. Please note that your pieces need to go through two firings before being ready for collection.

*Don’t want a mug? Come and make a bowl instead!

Course dates: 25th, 26th, or 27th January 2028

Where: The Poly Pottery (at the back of The Poly, accessed from New Street)

Duration: 2 hours

Class size: Eight per class

Tutor: Mawgan Dudding or Karl Owen

Cost: £28, including £1 Poly Fund along with all materials and equipment.
