Fast Track Big Band: From Pints to Performance!
What happens when you mix a couple of pints of Spingo at the Blue Anchor in Helston? it results in a big band!
The Fast Track Big Band was born in the cozy confines of the Blue Anchor pub in Helston, where Tony Richards and Clive King hatched a plan over their drinks. Little did they know, their brainstorming would lead to the formation of a 23-musician powerhouse.
Led by the charismatic duo of Richards and King, this band is anything but ordinary. With local musicians who share a love for big band music, the group has a sound as refreshing as a cold pint on a summer’s day…
From the first toot of the trumpet to the last bang of the drum, the Fast Track Big Band’s performances are a rollicking good time. Whether it’s a community event or just a practice session, they bring energy and joy to every note.
Under the expert direction of Richards and King, the band has become known for their vibrant performances and dedication to big band music. The members, all hailing from the local area, bring a wealth of talent and enthusiasm to the group, creating a powerful and harmonious sound.
Their swift rise to prominence in the community is a testament to the members’ hard work and the strong commitment of their founders. With a repertoire that spans classic big band pieces to contemporary arrangements, the Fast Track Big Band has quickly become a local favourite at events and celebrations.
The band’s rapid rise is a testament to the magic that happens when local talent meets leadership with a sense of humour. As they continue to play, laugh, and occasionally spill their Spingo, the Fast Track Big Band proves that with a lot of passion, anything is possible. As they continue to grow and develop, the Fast Track Big Band stands as a shining example of how a shared passion and a little local flavour can unite a community and create something truly special.
P.S. Make sure to wear something seasonal!
