Many of us will have grown up hearing fairytales, and may have read them to our own children in turn. But how well do we really know these stories that have been passed down through the generations?
This talk delves into the history of our most beloved childhood stories, revealing where they came from, how they have changed over the centuries, and why they are definitely NOT just for children!
‘Who knew the 'fairy’ stories we read, or watch, started from such very gruesome beginnings? I will never see Cinderella in the same way again!’
Emma Hughes (‘The Lady Time Traveller’) is a Costumed Interpreter based in Cornwall, delivering education sessions, presentations and tours in historic clothing. Specialising in Tudor and Stuart, Victorian and World War II history.
