Janavi Kramer, known professionally as Below and Beyond Art, is an internationally acclaimed Artist and Scientific Illustrator with a lifelong fascination for the ocean.
Art has always been Janavi’s way of making sense of the world. Raised in a creative home, she learned early on to find beauty in the smallest details. What began as a joyful hobby evolved into a deeper purpose after she began scuba diving. Immersed in some of the world’s most breathtaking underwater environments, her perspective shifted - igniting a desire to use art as a window into the hidden world below the surface. Through her intricate illustrations, she invites viewers to see the ocean not just as beautiful, but as worthy of awe, empathy, and protection.
As the marine environment faces mounting threats, Janavi’s work has become a voice for its most vulnerable inhabitants. Her art tells the stories of fragile ecosystems and the vital role the ocean plays in sustaining life on Earth, blending science and storytelling to raise awareness and inspire action.
Janavi’s practice celebrates the wonders of the sea while underscoring the urgent need for its conservation. Her mission is simple yet powerful: to inspire curiosity, foster connection, and use art as a catalyst for empathy and meaningful change.
