Paintings, drawings and ceramics. Depicting natural transformations relating to landscape, using abstract approaches of form, colour, imagery and composition.
Vicki's process begins with drawings and paintings in sketchbooks working ‘plein air’. She hopes to create an emotional connection to landscape which leads on to creating 2D and 3D Artworks reflecting the physical language of form, colour and surface pattern mapping topographic traces and imagery as part of the finished work. The 3D elements allow the landscape to become more tangible. The process of manipulating clay, carving into, applying slips, glazes, the physicality of the object, its weight, scale and surface add to the layers within her work.
