ECMF Opening Night, Sean Graefe-Morrison & Tarren

To celebrate the opening night of the 2026 Enys Chamber Music Festival join us for a tour of trad music from across the UK and beyond with Sean Graefe-Morrison and the ‘Mini Folk Supergroup’ (Tradfolk), Tarren.

Described as ‘a fluent and fearless player’, award winning violinist Sean Graefe-Morrision is motivated and enthused by an eclectic mix of music and has performed at a high level in a number of guises. While a prizewinning graduate of both the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire he is incredibly passionate about the music of his native Scotland and has performed and recorded around the country with a range of groups. One of Sean’s main projects is Thorpe & Morrison, an Anglo-Scottish fiddle and guitar duo who have toured and recorded to critical acclaim. Their most recent release "Grass & Granite" was nominated by Fatea Records as Instrumental Album of the Year 2024.

In this show Sean will be joined by his longtime friends, Sid Goldsmith, Alex Garden and Danny Pedler, who together form the widely celebrated trio, Tarren. Described by FRUK as “Just the kind of band we need on the Folk circuit today” Tarren is an ambassador for New-Folk; music that is fresh and dynamic, rooted in the English tradition. The trio is celebrated for its vibrant and expertly crafted arrangements of both Original and traditional material, creating music that moves and excites people. By incorporating modular hooks and minimalist forms, Tarren is leading folk music to a new place, while keeping the pulse of traditional dance at its heart.
