In 1924, at the summer meeting of the RCP, the President and the Assistant Secretary gave talks on aspects of ‘Falmouth and the Great War’, chosen “lest many of the happenings of the Great War in this neighbourhood should be lost in oblivion”.
The Poly Archives contain both of these first hand accounts together with a wealth of other material from newspapers, official records and photographs to recorded personal memories. This talk will trace the impact of the war as it is shown through the archive material. The speakers have also prepared a soon to be published book on the subject.
