Exploring Through Drawing: A Drawing Course for Beginners

Always fancied giving drawing a go but didn’t know where to start? Why not kick start a new hobby or reignite your passion for drawing with this short drawing course in 2025!

On this two session course you will explore playful methods of drawing and learn techniques and processes with drawing materials to help you begin or refresh your artistic journey. Perhaps you are a complete beginner, have lost confidence or it’s been years since you have engaged in creative practice. On the course you will be working in a supported environment with plenty of encouragement and guidance from local artist and art tutor Lisa Waldron. The course will feature intuitive drawing, observing and drawing objects in the gallery space (still life) and working from printed images and photographs.

Location:

Classes will take place in the Main Gallery at The Poly

What to Bring:

Please bring a sketchbook and pencil, all other materials will be provided for the class. Tea and coffee will be available. Please bring a packed lunch or lunch can be bought from local cafes or shops in the 45 minute lunch break.
