Paintings by Tina Day
Tina Day was born and raised in London, and studied at St Martin's School of Art. She followed this with three years at Falmouth School of Art, from which she graduated with a BA in Fine Art in 1976.
Finding Cornish life to her taste, Tina has lived near Falmouth ever since. During these many years, her practice has never faltered: working in pastel, pencil, oil and watercolour, Tina has painted land and seascapes, flowers and self-portraits. The majority of the work is done on the easel in her home studio: the paintings are quiet and close-toned, with a sombre, rich palette that reveals its secrets slowly.
A keen sailor, Tina has travelled widely on the tall ship The Lord Nelson, experiencing many aspects of life at sea. Her enjoyment of coastal weather, the sea and its moods, are a vital part of her life.
