Writing Workshop: Character Creation

Have you ever dreamt of creating historical or fantasy characters but don’t know where to begin? Struggle with capturing the perfect details to breathe life into your stories. Then this is the workshop you’ve been waiting for! 

Join actor and writer Henry Austwick for an inspiring, hands-on writing experience designed to spark your imagination and develop your creative voice. Through a series of immersive writing adventures, you’ll be guided to transform what you see into words, crafting characters and stories as vibrant as the worlds they inhabit.

Two costumed performers will serve as your living inspiration. You’ll observe, analyse, and describe these characters, using a variety of guided writing exercises to turn real-time observation into compelling narratives- from character stances, backstory and movements, to clashing of swords. 

This dynamic approach will challenge and encourage you to stretch your descriptive writing skills and build characters that leap off the page.

Participants will need to bring their own preferred writing supplies, pen, paper, laptop, quill and parchment whatever you need to tell your story.

Suitable for 12+, however children must be accompanied  an adult at all times.
