The Poly's Great Golden Animal Hunt!

*UPDATE SATURDAY, 12:30: THE HUNT RESUMES 10AM TOMORROW*

Call off the search for today: we've just had news that the last few golden animals hidden yesterday morning have been found. Well done to all you eagle-eyed hunters! We'll have to hide tomorrow's golden friends extra well...

From 10am tomorrow, each park will have another four animals waiting to be found. Plus, the rare, elusive and highly desirable golden cat and golden hippo will make their entrance to the proceedings!

We hope you'll understand the decision we took this year (to stagger the event over the whole weekend and in three locations) was to avoid any risk of generating a mass gathering. It's been so popular that we hope it will become an annual fixture. Hopefully next year we will have even more animals and prizes and just one location per day to save the legs of all the patient parents and carers!

Thank you so much to everyone who has taken part so far, and for the lovely comments we've received. Happy Easter everyone - and don't forget, we reopen The Guild and Spring Gallery 13th April, and - fingers crossed - cinema will be back from 17th May. We're really looking forward to welcoming you back to The Poly!

Good luck to tomorrow's golden animal hunters!

During lockdown, we've found ourselves with a rather unusual menagerie at The Poly Pottery. Four (very small) horses, four koala bears, six bunnies, six frogs, one hippo, and one cat have all come to stay. It’s not your classic farmyard selection, granted, but they’ve all got on very amicably.

But the time has come, and they’ve asked if they can be released into the wilds of Falmouth - they want to find new homes!

So over the Easter weekend we’ll be squirrelling away our golden friends for you to find in three locations around Falmouth: Beacon Park, Kimberley Park, and Queen Mary Gardens down by Gylly Beach.

If you find one of our golden friends, you should know that some come with prizes! Pottery taster sessions, pottery boxes and £5 gift vouchers are all up for grabs.

Every animal has a unique number written underneath - it's one of 22. To find out if you're a winner, let us know your animal's number when you tag @PolyFalmouth in a photo or email info@thepoly.org, and we'll let you know if you've won as soon as we can (please bear in mind we're trying to take a little bit of Easter holiday too!). Each animal has a little slip of paper in their cavity with instructions.

We hope you have fun taking part! Prizes are suitable for adults and children. Please note: golden animals are made of ceramic not chocolate; please don't bite them!
