Form and Colour is an exploration of still life, abstraction, and landscape, where bold hues and expressive forms converge. This exhibition celebrates the interplay between structure and spontaneity, exploring abstracted still life, vibrant non-representational works, and semi-abstract landscapes. Each piece transforms familiar subjects into a dance of shape, texture, and luminosity, inviting viewers to engage with the essence of form beyond realism. Through striking compositions and rich colour palettes, Form and Colour reveals the beauty of abstraction in the everyday and the imagined.
Living in the same village in North Cornwall, Fran and Sue translate their surroundings into vibrant, expressive paintings. They both embrace bold colour, layering, and dynamic mark-making. Sue explores abstracted still life, distilling everyday objects into rich compositions through scraping back and reworking the surface. Fran captures the essence of landscapes, transforming familiar vistas into fluid, atmospheric forms. Working from their garden studios, they immerse themselves in their environment where their intuitive processes breathe life into their vividly layered works.
