Marylou Delaney and John Shears

In his collection 'The Cornish Way', John Shears presents scenes honouring Cornish landscapes and towns. Works in watercolour and oil celebrate the moods of the seasons as fully as the moods of the people. Tranquil waters and natural vistas are observed as intimately as a study of the people within these spaces. A selection of scenes in and around the local areas known to the artist which over the years have inspired and compelled him to capture the beauty and bustle of his surroundings.

Marylou Delaney's collection 'The Joy of Food' celebrates the beauty of fruits and vegetables and the mealtime experience. Rich, intense colours combine with the chiaroscuro technique to depict the complexity of seemingly simple, traditional still life subjects. 'Food is an intensely enjoyable part of my life: growing, harvesting, preparing, cooking and savouring food is a central theme in my everyday. The paintings are a natural extension of a deep-rooted pleasure and veneration for simple fruits and vegetables.'
