Inspired by living in Cornwall, my work reflects the surrounding countryside and seascapes. The Helford River, St Michael’s Mount and St Ives all feature in this exhibition, representing escape from lockdown and a new birth into 'Summer 2021'.
This exhibition reflects the privilege of living in Cornwall, a land of hidden beauty, startling contrasts in landscape and picturesque villages, all surrounded by the shining sea. Whether it be my rowing to Frenchman’s Creek to paint in the early dew of a summer’s morning, or trudging out to Zennor Head, the beauty is quite startling and always leaves me with a feeling of serenity and joy. The pieces in this exhibition were finished during the dark days of lockdown and represent an explosion of colour and neo-nascence into the summer of 2021.
Summer 2021 will be open from Tuesday 10th May to Saturday 15th May, 10am - 5pm.
The Poly is an Own Art gallery. If you see a painting you fall in love with, you can support local artists and split the cost over ten months (interest free). Own Art is available for the purchase of artworks between £100 - £2500 - just ask at Box Office for more information.
