An introduction to Linocut Printmaking course, familiarises participants with the nature of relief printmaking and the tools and materials used. We play with the tools, learning technique through “doing”, followed by a little tuition, then move on to designing a ‘carvable’ block, transferring the image to Lino and going about creating a simple (one colour) linocut (normally A5 or A6). All participants will then have the opportunity to print proofs of their block, both by hand and by table-top press.
Further courses, in two colour / ombré linocut, jigsaw method and reduction print are also available.
