Stonephace combines the electrifying sounds of Nu Jazz and Improvisation with stunning visual projections by renowned artist Roger Thorp. The band comprises Larry Stabbins on alto/sop sax, Jake Willbourne on guitar, James McPhail on bass, and Keith Michael on drums.
Larry Stabbins is a highly experienced musician, having led several pioneering bands across a range of jazz genres including free, spiritual, technofunk, and psychedelic hip hop. He has collaborated with some of the most innovative musicians of his time, including Keith Tippett, Peter Broztmann, Tony Oxley, Jerry Dammers, and Working Week in the 1980s and 90s.
In this latest iteration of Stonephace, Larry joins forces with Jake Wilbourne, of The Black Tambourines, to create a fresh and exciting sound that blends jazz improvisation with modern rock influences.
