Gail Muller: Do Hope
Join Falmouth Bookseller at The Poly to celebrate the publication of local author Gail Muller’s new book, Do Hope: Why You Should Never Give Up.
Gail will be in conversation with journalist and presenter Jemma Woodman about her journey through chronic pain, her love of adventure and how to keep hope alive.
Drinks and signed copies of Do Hope will be available on the night!
About Do Hope
Gail Muller, a chronic pain sufferer, was told to ‘give up hope’ of a recovery and accept that she would be in a wheelchair by 40. She refused. She eventually found a cure and went on to walk America’s legendary Appalachian Trail. But what is hope? And why do we need it now more than ever?
In her new book, Do Hope, Gail shares her own story of survival and what she has learnt: that hope is not just a platitude, it’s a powerful and energising catalyst towards better days. A light in the dark. But sometimes hope can fade – and if that happens, how do we get it back?
About the author
Gail Muller is a Cornish adventurer, author, speaker and coach. She has faced a raft of adversity in her life and has moved through considerable challenges with hope, courage, and the passionate belief that our broken bits are actually superpowers. Recently diagnosed with ADHD at 44, she also struggled for fifteen years with musculoskeletal issues and the resulting chronic pain. In 2019, after considerable physical rehabilitation, she set out to walk the Appalachian Trail in the USA, later writing a bestselling book Unlost.
