Alicia's work in this exhibition is inspired by the beautiful surroundings in which she lives and reflects her work this summer around the Cornish coastline. The sea is a particular continuing source of ideas for new canvases, and amongst her work you will find many local scenes which may be familiar to you, and some, perhaps more out-of-the-way places, which might be new.
As a regular sailor, many of Alicia's paintings are views from a seaward aspect, making her work unusual and distinctive. The vintage posters of the 1940s & 50s with their vivid colours and deep shadows are also an inspiration for her work. This exhibition will include work produced in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in the summer of 2023.
