Beginners Batik

Batik is a lovely medium to use. 

Draw inspiration to sketch patterns (notepad, pen and pencil included). 

Learn to use tjantings to draw designs with hot wax, then add colour and expression with vibrant dyes. 

In the morning we will practise using a circular frame, and after lunch (bring packed lunch or visit the cafe) work on a square piece.

You will also learn different ways to fix the dyes and remove the wax.

You can take the pieces home with you or they can be treated, ironed and hemmed and posted to your home address for an additional £10 (this can be paid on the day).

Workshop is for ages 14+ (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult on the course)
