Mining, Clog Making & Spies: A Tale of Three Local Families

Chris Smith, one of our FHA volunteers, has a fascinating tale to tell about his family history…

Join Chris for an illustrated talk based on over 5,800 family documents, letters and photographs.

Not many of us has a family history which includes a clog maker turned boot factory entrepreneur, a Falmouth jewellery shop owner, the founder of an internationally known School of Mines …. and a mother who, during WWII, worked as a liaison officer between the Free French fighters in Vichy controlled French Levant and MI6 HQ in Cairo!
