Dir. Sean Baker | 2024 | 139 mins | English/Russian
Sean Baker’s story of an erotic dancer who marries a Russian oligarch, a terrific Palme d’Or winner
The Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or winner is set to be a standout in his already illustrious career. Known for his authentic, raw storytelling, Baker’s work blurs the lines between film and reality.
The film explores the life of a Brooklyn-based sex worker and the unique client who turns her world upside down. Cinematographer Drew Daniels and composer Matthew Hearon-Smith add depth, with vibrant warm tones and an evocative score. Lead actress Mikey Madison’s performance is described as “alive” and “tangible," making Anora a cinematic gem with "radically romantic" vibes.
Tickets: £8.00/£7.00/£4.50
A £1 Poly Fund payment is added to each ticket sold.
