Brian's VIEW FROM THE WINGS is that of the stage manager; a sideways look at theatrical productions - some disastrous, some amusing, some unpredictable (never work with children and animals), and some poignant. And perhaps a few 'slightly saucy'.
After the interval he presents GEORGE BERNARD SHAW: PLAYING THE CLOWN, his acclaimed and much-travelled solo presentation about the difficult beginnings, the defining politics, the extensive writings and the unorthodox love life of our second-greatest playwright. A story told - as indeed Shaw himself always told it - with a whimsical sense of humour.
"Thanks for
a great talk. From the audience reactions it was clear that you very much hit
the spot. At a time when audiences are increasingly diverted by Powerpoint
presentations it is refreshing to find a speaker who can hold an audience
enthralled with the spoken word alone. It is something you are able to achieve
in spades. Thank you for your support of the National Trust talks programme.
