Ben Baker: Drawings Brought to Life
Unfortunately I, like many, lost my job last year due to Covid-19. My workshop at Charlestown Harbour, where I build boats, was shut, and I got furloughed. As time went on I was unable to return to work.
Luckily for me, I have an insatiable compulsion to make. I used my furlough time to do work around the house, laid a patio, and gardened with my children. The other thing I did was return to my art, my 'wire drawing'. I had been harbouring many ideas over the years but had lacked the time to sit down and develop them. Furlough gave me that time, and this exhibition represents the work I have been creating since.

Ben's exhibition will be open from Tuesday 13th April, 10am - 5pm.
In line with social distancing guidance, numbers in the gallery at any one time will be limited to five. Please wear a mask, and on arrival, sanitise your hands and check-in to The Poly using your NHS app.
Having done this, please don't be afraid to interact with the works - the handles turn clockwise and have been tested by a toddler!
The Poly is an Own Art gallery. Split the cost of artworks of £100 - £2000 over ten months (interest free) with Own Art.
