StreetDraw24 is an annual 24-hour drawing event held here in
Falmouth which raises funds for St Petrocs’ work with people facing
homelessness in Cornwall. This year's draw runs from noon on Friday 8th October to noon on Saturday 9th October.
This will be the fourth
year where people who love drawing – artists, students, enthusiasts, amateurs –
get out and about in the town during a 24-hour period and make images of
whatever they choose however they choose. Some people draw for 24 hours others
take part briefly. Some draw alone, others in groups. Some create one image,
others many!
There’s no cost to participate and everyone is
welcome. Simply sign up on Facebook or email streetdraw24@gmail.com. Participation packs will be available from The Poly in the week
of the draw.
All artists who
participate will be invited to donate images created during the draw to show in The Poly's Spring Gallery, 19-23 October. Work will be sold to raise funds for St Petrocs - last year StreetDraw24
raised £4,500 to support their important work.
This year the
StreetDraw24 team want to encourage individuals and groups who might like to
take part but are not sure where to start to join in! Thanks to FEAST and Cornwall Community
Foundation a small pot of funding is available to support this so
please get in touch if you’re interested.
