Rachel Joyce is the author of international bestsellers including The Love Song of Miss Queenie Hennessy, Miss Benson's Beetle and the much beloved Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry.
Ten years after Harold's iconic walk across England, Rachel picks up the story of his wife, Maureen Fry, who has a story of her own to tell. When an unexpected message disturbs her equilibrium, this time it is Maureen's turn to set off on a journey.
But unlike Harold, Maureen struggles to bond with strangers, and the landscape she crosses has changed radically. She has little sense of what she'll find at the end of the road. All she knows is that she must get there.
Rachel will be talking about the new novel, her storytelling craft, and her adaptation for the film of The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry (starring Jim Broadbent and Penelope Wilton) which is due for release later in the year.
