Iona Lane with Support from Barney Kenny

“An intriguing debut - her sweet voice recalls Emilíana Torrini, while her lyrics and musical arrangements crackle with wide-eyed curiosity.” - Jude Rogers, The Guardian (2022)

Iona Lane's music is a beautiful tribute to her reverence for the natural world. Her poetic songs are drawn from the stunning landscapes she has encountered, and the stories that they hold, whether rooted in mythology, folklore or science.

In 2022, she released her debut album 'Hallival' to critical acclaim, reaching number 36 in the Folk Album Charts, and gaining airplay across the country, including on BBC Radio 2. Her contemporary folk style breathes new life into these tales, capturing the essence of the natural world in a way that is both captivating and inspiring.

Supporting Iona is Falmouth-based Barney Kenny, an artist carving out a name for himself on the folk circuit. With a six string and lapsteel slide guitar, his music is heavily influenced by world music, blues, and rock - blending storytelling and foot-stomping acoustic music.  Barney's live set crosses many boundaries, from Anglo-Celtic tunes to southern-blues rock to traditional songs from the transatlantic scene. He is promoting his new album 'The Seaton Tapes', a live 'in session' album.
