Elements

The wild elements of Cornwall captured in clay, silver, glass and paint. Bringing together four local artists who use their chosen mediums to express what living in Cornwall means to them, to create an exciting new exhibition.

Lucy Joines’ playful ceramics are beautifully decorated with underglazes and gold lustre to depict the wildlife of moor and sea. Her illustrative designs capture a magical world and each and every one is unique.

They will be displayed alongside striking jewellery by Laura Drayson. Silver and semi-precious gemstones are combined to create sculptural pieces, inspired by the textures and history of the Cornish coast.

Adorning the walls will be fused glass art by Niko Brown and uplifting abstract landscapes by Fiona Cant.

Niko’s art is influenced by childhood memories of playing in nature and the joy and fun this brought her. She creates bold statement pieces that combine the simplicity of shape, with the subtlety of colour and light that can only be created with fused glass.

Fiona Cant’s work draws on the healing power of nature and how being in wild places can make a person feel. Using mixed media and an intuitive approach her work aims to capture the sense of freedom and aliveness that being in nature evokes.
