ANSELM details the work of the immensely talented artist Anselm Kiefer. 

Taking us on a journey through Kiefer's stations of life and places of creation, Wenders guides us behind the scenes and into the conceptual world of an artist who has been exploring the human condition and the cyclical nature of history through a wide range of themes and motifs inspired by literature and poetry, history, philosophy, science, mythology and religion. 

This unique cinematic experience dives deep into Kiefer's oeuvre, bringing together the strings of a career spanning more than five decades between his native country Germany and France, his creative home today.
