Dir. Mark Jenkin | 2023 | 90 mins plus Q&A
We’re thrilled to be presenting Enys Men with a live score that sonically reimagines its source material. It will be performed by writer-director Mark Jenkin and Dion Star, known under the banner of their collaborative music project ‘The Cornish Sound Unit’, who employ improvised and composed pieces using tape machines, analogue synths, feedback and field recordings. Followed by short Q&A with Mark Jenkin.
Set in 1973 on an uninhabited island off the Cornish coast, a wildlife volunteer's daily observations of a rare flower turn into a metaphysical journey that forces her as well as the viewer to question what is real and what is a nightmare.
Live score commissioned by the BFI
Sunday 3rd December, 7.00pm
