Design Textile Repeat Patterns by Hand

Unlock the mystery of seamless repeat pattern by spending a day designing your own using traditional methods and simple graphic tools. After looking at a number of repeat types and printed fabrics the day will involve :- rendering designs with pencils & inks on paper; consideration of textile surface patterning methods and looking at colour and its effects. 

Bring any inspiration you particularly want to design from (images, books, small items) and be reassured that innate drawing skills, should you have misgivings about such things, are definitely not needed for success on this day. 

This workshop is about giving up digital design solutions just for a moment to allow for a direct and human opportunity to express creative ideas using art media... in a slower way. 

Workshop is for ages 18+.
