Art Historian, artist and author, Alan Powers will give a lecture on the art of John Piper, Eric Ravilious and their contemporaries, reflecting on the influence and inspiration of the seaside in interwar culture.
Alan Powers is a writer and teacher who has specialised in the study of mid-twentieth century British art, architecture and design, writing books, curating exhibitions and lecturing, including the 2003 exhibition at the Imperial War Museum, London, Eric Ravilious: Imagined Realities and Eric Ravilious in the Eyes of his Contemporaries.
