The
Exhibition follows an accidental collaboration between Artist and Photographer
guided by the literal meaning of Photo-Graphy as ‘Drawing with Light’.
The
subject matter involves such as 6,000 blue marbles, cardboard cut-outs, tin
foil, polystyrene, shards of resin, wall paper paste and tracing papers. All
the images presented are as photographed.
A
combination of LEDs, room lighting and natural light, along with movement and
varying exposures contributed to some unexpected transformational effects.
None
are digitally conceived, generated or manipulated beyond traditional darkroom
techniques by use of computer.
Since
it was not possible to include all the work in the Exhibition, there is an
accompanying book, ‘Play of Light’ with some 300 photographs depicting the
progression of the project to the time of the Exhibition.
