Jenny Webbe and Sue Pease: True Colours

Jenny and Sue met at a local life drawing group and became friends due to their interest in abstract painting.

Jenny has a BA in Fine Art (Manchester) and an MA in Art and Design (Sheffield). A Fine Art lecturer at Tameside College before coming to Cornwall in 2003 to paint full time, Jenny has been a regular exhibitor at The Poly for many years.

Sue has a BA in Fine Art (Bath Academy) and an Art Teachers Certificate. Although an experienced adult educator, Sue only became a seriously practising artist in later life, exploring increasingly free approaches and a wide range of source material. Following a course at Newlyn School of Art, she is now experimenting widely with abstract methods, often based on experimental layers of texture, shape and colour.

Sue's grandfather, G.E. Treweek, was a prolific Cornish landscape painter in the first half of the twentieth century, and a significant figure in her childhood. Like Sue, he was most productive in later life! She is currently an active member at the Mining Exchange Gallery in Redruth, but this is the first time she will be exhibiting a large body of work.
